RBS Crew

Just before the turn of the century in the Ruhrpott area of Germany,
a new generation of hardcore bands were forming within an active
scene that was at the same time rapidly developing. The ever-expanding
scene and new bands heralded a heavy, Mosh-oriented sound, soon-to-be
a classic trademark of the evolving niche and its aggressive acts.
Initially formed by bands such as Crawlspace, Drift and Copykill, among
many others, these original bands put this scene on the map with their
tough sounds and ideals of unity and friendship. Helping bolster support
and love for their music scene, made complete with a new way of hard
moshing, the scene grew and gained more steam and attention along the
way. With new bands popping up and the existing bands gaining popularity,
fans of the music, record labels, zines and more all saw the music scene
expand and grow. In this context the RBS Crew was founded in 1999.
In 2005, and with the hardcore scene in general becoming bigger and
venturing out into the mainstream, the core group of people comprising
the RBS backbone decided it was time to strip back the meaning and
message to its original ethics. Having been built upon the blood, sweat
and tears of kids who were active members of the music scene, it seemed,
necessary to hold on to and bring back the ethics of real hardcore as
they felt it should be. In the spirit of keeping their scene alive and
healthy, devoid of greedy promoters and fake posers using the music/lifestyle
as their popularity contest, the ideal of hardcore being for the kids
and by the kids became the mindset to keep the scene strong and what so
many kids fight to maintain. With this being said, here is what the RBS
is all about: We want to keep the hardcore scene growing and we want it
to be as strong and independent as possible. Our purpose is to built up
a network of kids, bands, labels, and local scenes in Europe (and beyond)
in order to support our scene as a whole, help out bands, put up shows
and keep it real like it's supposed to. This is what the RBS is NOT
about: We are NOT a gang, we are NOT nazis, we are NOT sexist, we are
NOT homophobic and we do NOT see ourselves as an elite arbitrarily
kicking everyone out of the scene who does not agree with our opinions.
We do NOT support or tolerate any of this shit. This has nothing to do
with us and hardcore as we see it. If you are down with us: cool, if
not: thats also cool. If you dont like what we stand for, either say
something face to face or shut your mouth.

Simple as that!

Sincerely

RBS CREW
